the team for the oz tour has been announced. as expected no bhajji. team looks pretty well balanced. however, the manner of tendulkar's dismissal in the second innings and ashwin's brain fart at the end should give india pause. what the hell happened?

Rohit sharma got lucky to be in. I was expecting a 16 man team. Zaheer's peculiar status may have helped rohit. It is not a bad choice. India will have only three back up batsmen (or sub fielders) in case of injuries.

Indian batting is all it can be. Win or lose that is the best India could offer at this moement.

Bowling is far better than WI and england tours. Without Zaheer a very inexperienced bunch. If this group can rise to test level, India can compete. Australia also has a fairly inexperienced bowling unit but they are playing in their backyard. Australian batting is yet solidify. Shane watson could be a big pain. One danger is that unhelpful pitches may render Indian spin ineffective and Indian fast bowling unit may not trouble Aussies. If bowling unit comes through India may a strong chance of beating Australia.
