He is retiring so no political risk, but still...
On the other hand the way Drumpf is going with his daily doozies, it may be a political risk for some GOP congressmen in purple districts not to dump him.

If it was clear to GOP leaders that Trump will lose in a landslide, they would follow this guy. They are hesitant to do this now because if it's a close election, they will be blamed by their party for losing a close election. Trump needs to fall behind by double digits in the polls before more GOP leaders will endorse Hillary.
