BN reddi was the best. His 'Bangaru Papa' with SV ranga rao was a master piece.

I may have posted this little tidbit before.

B.N. Reddy arranged for a special screening of Malliswari for Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, then Vice-President. After the movie was over Reddy asked Radhakrishnan what he thought of the movie and his direction (hoping he would get some nice praise). It seems Radhakrishnan said - "it's a very good movie, you captured the life during Krishnadevaraya times very well etc., but you were careless about one little detail. During the "pilichina biguvataraa" song there was a storm outside. After the song was over the king and the poet (who were in disguise) leave mounting their horses. When the horses take off, they kick a lot of dirt in their trail. How come? when it rained so hard, where did all that dirt came from? how could they kick up that dirt?" Reddy felt really bad that he missed that one.
