Juggi may be your guru but he should know the rituals before commenting on them. The old Swami of Kanchi (Chandrasekhara Saraswati) wrote a book on Hindu traditions (Hindu Dharma). May be you should read the book (and decide for yourself whether you want to follow them or not).

SG is not my Guru yet, I like his views mostly. I have read the book you mentioned a bit as I have a copy at home. I find old swami's ideas are biased -ve towards lower castes and may not be applicable to current scenario. (based on what little I have read of the book).
