This is very irresponsible journalism. Wonder whether something like this is actionable.

A day after several CRPF personnel were killed in an alleged Naxal attack in Sukma district of Chattisgrah, a pro-Hindutva web portal has published photographs of JNU students celebrating election victories as merrymaking after the Naxal attack.

The web portal Srishta News, which states its mission as “In pursuit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, further claims, whenever there were attacks on the army by Naxals, students groups in the varsity organised celebrations.

It has also published photos of several graffiti and posters inside the campus which talk about the Naxal movement and people’s struggle, to substantiate their claims.

Veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai on Wednesday tweeted a screenshot of the fake news, saying “2015 JNU election result photo put up on right wing website to claim celebrations on campus after Sukma!”
