Oksana Zaharov, 46, of Edgewater, told New York Lottery officials she meant to buy $1 scratch-off ticket but was mistakenly issued a $10 Set for Life ticket by the clerk. 

Zaharov added that she normally doesn't even immediately check her numbers after buying scratch off tickets. 
"When the clerk handed me the wrong ticket I felt bad so I decided to just go ahead and buy it," she said in a press release issued by the New York Lottery on Tuesday. "I actually used the ticket as a bookmark for a couple weeks before I decided to scratch it." 

The mother of two, who was in New York to shop, is slated to receive 19 annual payments of $260,000 ($172,068 after taxes) and one additional payment of $60,000 (net $39,708). After that, she will continue to receive an annual net payment of $172,068.
