Based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, a 17th-century Maharashtrian Marathi military leader.

didn't know much of the history when i went to watch it, so for me it was a suspense thriller with hyped up saffronized sentiments. Had i known the history beforehand, i would have been amazed and possibly turned off at the twists they did. 

loved how they showed gorilla warfare, scaling the fort and cliff. In real, i am reading they used some animal. anyhoos, i always used to imagine as a kid what a typical shivaji sena gorilla warfare must have been like, and this kinda filled that imagination wonderfully. So in that sense the movie is a can-see. the animated horse riding and people-jumping scenes were cringe-ly obvious, but they had disclaimed earlier that all animal scenes are animated.
