>>> many schools, universities shut down or going online. As of now, some offices like mine have not gone fully remote. Seems like over reaction, but given what we don't know what we are dealing with, maybe we don't have a choice. Hope things are not too crazy on the east coast.Jconfuzzled dude wrote:How are things in nocal?

I don't think it is overreaction given what is happening in Italy and Spain. Shortage of ventilators and beds will be a big problem, some reports claim that beds per 100k population in US are less than Italy. Going by the struggles of US to get the test streamlined, one shouldn't feel comfortable.
Same deal here; all the schools and colleges are closed, stores ran out of toilet paper/paper towels. Even Indian stores ran out of rice and daal. They had to have police stationed at Costco

You may have seen this video already, is making rounds on WhatsApp. And I doubt anything will change when [corona] dust settles.

Watched the clip. I don't think there are going to be any lessons learned this time either, unfortunately.

One virus screwed-up the world.
Wondering if Republicans don't want Pussy-grabber to do any socialism and stay away from interfering in people's lives. People are dying because the Lord wants them to die.

Re: Everyone, stay safe..
i went last saturday, it was fine. hearing they may close everything from monday. i am short of potato and tomato, let's see... how are things there. trying to stay home and stay out of trouble, but a part of me also thinks if my body is going to be subjected to this, then better take my chances at 46 than at 56. so, i don't know. i will know my body only when i am hit by it and what if i am a vulnerable human being... and then again, like any suspense movie, i can't help asking myself - have i already been hit?

that too, keeping fingers crossed. who knows what kinda recession will follow. somehow lucked out in 2000 internet bubble burst coz we had just converted company stocks into down payment for a house, and somehow survived 2008 coz i was in entertainment industry at the time. let's see what happens this round.

In the entertainment industry? Didn’t know this side of you, TW. Seriously, sit tight till this passes over. It is going to take some time, but patience is key. I remember the 2008 episode. I had a bad boss at that time, as though the crisis wasn’t enough. One of the top brass called me aside and told me not to worry. Was a trying time, but worked out.

Re: Everyone, stay safe..
I will die someday, maybe from coronavirus or something else.
I'm having a lot of fun now watching the so-called very, very important people washing dishes, cooking food and trying to keep breathing.... alone, while all their expensive stuff become secondary.
Something to think about. A coronavirus dead body is a peace of toxic garbage, that is burnt like trash. No final goodbyes, no loved ones.

Hey, didn’t you write once about some guy on the train trying to hit on you? Was it from those days?

haha y'day i closed my laptop, put on music and began dancing. all good except kid number 1 is back home and recorded all that embarassment and sent it to me, and, yeah, there's a good reason i don't dance in public lol. but the inner me is a diva in my imagination, reason why i love musicals so much.
hitting on me on train? hmm, don't remember, might be some one off forgettable incidence (or your memory lapse hehe)... well now i am a certified aunty, but even 8-10 years ago when i wasn't this fat, usually i didn't get hit on, as in no one tried talking to me or flirt with me. i had a friend who would always ask me if anyone tried to talk to me if i reached before them and was alone in a bar, and i would be like, no, why? Basically that would bring my hotness factor down by many levels haha. guess that's because i have a classic RBF (resting bitch face), oh well. or maybe when i was growing up and had to be outdoors a lot on cycles or scooters, i subconsciously learnt to make a men-repellent face and body language. hmm.

Re: Everyone, stay safe..
Ok TW,
Reminds me of something I read by a guy looking back on his life when he was about to turn 50. I am paraphrasing from memory here: “at 40, you can fantasize that the 27 year old in the mall was checking you out. At 50, who are we kidding?” Anyway, I thought you had written once about the train encounter. It may have been in the lighter vein.
Stay safe. I need to hit the treadmill. Can’t stand this inertia.
