It has been long that way. As in anything, research confirms what is obvious. Almost (heck) ALL my cars have run over 100,000. All - except ONE - went past/still driving - 150,000. The one that reached 103,000 had to junk it following an accident - the engine still started fine. At present one car is approaching 100 K and driving 300 mile is common in that.

If you change the oil every 2500 miles, change air/fuel filters; tire pressure 5 psi LESS than the max tire pressure, a couple of Wax coats before the rainy season, the car should run easily 100K.

Then change half shafts, change METALLIC break pads, muffler; radiator fluid, tranny oil change - and you are good for another 100K.

Anyone who sells the car LESS than 100K is just wasting money.

There was a time I had 5 cars and a motorcycle. Now only 3 + 1.

But, remember I have always owned only used cars and hence changed many of these after a while.
