those who like pink floyd are usually the ones who have gone through a lot of adolescent angst. i could not bear listening to pink floyd after my first few months in college. my angst had simmered down (or had been channelized) and i had been exposed to other rock (led zeppelin, U2, doors, stones, jethro tull) and western classical.

U2 angtsy? Question

Dunno about angst but yes, I do like Pink Floyd and have been to their concerts as well - the last one I went to was ~5 years ago.

well, i did qualify my observation with "usually." you are probably "unusual."

i saw roger waters in concert in my first year in radio city music hall, nyc and the pink floyd laser light show in a theatre attached to the museum of natural history, nyc.

whose concert did you attend 5 yrs. ago? roger waters'?

for a long time, "pink floyd -- live at pompeii" was my favourite music video. i had chanced upon a video cassette of it and "wall -- the movie" in 1983 and i would listen to this endlessly ("wall" had too much anger and rebellion against authority and suicidal motifs and was painful to watch repeatedly). this one was sheer melody (specially the bit with his dog chipping in towards the end).

thanks to you i am listening to it again after decades and still enjoying it. Smile

towards the end of my tryst with pink floyd, i had grown fond of syd barret's albums too (the piper at the gates of dawn and a saucerful of secrets). that was scary. Razz luckily i pulled back in the nick of time. you been there, done that ms non-angsty?

'Now'? More a mid-maamidom crisis.

HK, I listened to "everything I do, I do it for you" and other such uplifting songs too, to keep angst under check.
