Life of Pi Empty Life of Pi

Stunning visuals in 3-D. An almost romantic view of Pondicherry at the outset. Story of a kid adrift in the Pacific, braving the elements, a bit of Robinson Crusoe thrown in. Heck, Richard Parker could almost be seen as an unwitting Man Friday, in a spiritual sense, as the animal helps the kid keep his wits sharp (in Pi's own words). Larger spiritual meaning? Only if you want to see it. Overall worth seeing though, just for the visuals.

After a certain point if the story gets boring, the visuals won't hold your interest even on IMAX 3D. Case in point - Avatar.
