Tough rebuttal on his Thakoor article abot national unity and other nonsense

this the article rashmun posted.
http://tharoor.in/articles/celebrating-indias-linguistic-diversity/

>> Tradition and politics required a speech in Hindi be made by PM on indep day

It shows the power of Hindians in India. This Tkakoor speaks of plularism. That would allow Gowda (Kannadiga) to speak in Kannada and not force him to read a Hindi speech he did not knbow. That is va humiliation of all non-Hindis.

>> Only in India could a country be ruled by a man who does not understand its ‘national language’.

Only in India would a regional language be called national languAge with no basis. Shows the power of Hindians.

>> And only in India could this particular solution be found to enable the prime minister to address his people.

He is talking about reading Hindi speech written i n Kannada script. Only in India such a stupidity be carried out by the most powerful man to appease Hindians.

>> Back in the 1980s, one of Indian cinema’s finest playback singers, the Keralite K J Yesudas, sang his way to the top of the Hindi music charts with lyrics in that language written in the Malayalam script for him, but to see the same practice elevated to the prime ministerial address on Independence Day was a startling affirmation of Indian pluralism.

Thakoor seem stupid. This is an affiration of Hindians forcing Indian singularism.

>> Indeed, when two Indians meet abroad, or two educated urban Indians meet in India, unless they have prior reason to believe they have an Indian language in common, the first language they speak to each other is English.

So English should be the official language of India. Case closed.

>> Let us celebrate our Independence on August 15 in a multitude of languages.

Then why is this Thakoor don't want Gowda to deliver indep day message in Kannada?

>> But my larger and more serious point, as we look forward to our 61st Independence Day, is that Indian nationalism is a rare animal indeed. The French speak French, the Germans speak German,

Tamils speak Tamil. Their country is Tamil Nadsu. My argument for TN independence is affirmed.

Sashi Tharoor grew up in Delhi. He had been brain washed by the Hindi fanatics. He is trying to appease them.

Since he wants to give it a shot in Indian politics, he may just be playing to a gallery on these types of issues. I would be curious to know if his kids speak any indian language(s).
