i presume these are absolute numbers. other interesting numbers i'd love to find out are footprint per capita and foot print/gdp by country. the latter number is especially interesting because in my mind that says something about the efficiency of economic activity. where did you get this?

The reciprocal of the latter number is used in the literature (my wife has been studying this area quite a bit lately and I've gotten sucked into it as well. It's really fascinating.) Here is the full data set. List of countries by ratio of GDP to CO2 emissions
