Who's missing Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dravid, VVS, Ganguly?

I'm not.

Nope! Batting conditions/pitch were same for both teams. Better bowling won.

Agree...bring on 1 drop catch immediately and for a start. That will put a sudden break on the batsmen and they might even try to become better batsmen by focusing on perfecting their technique. 6s will become a very risky business and batsmen will think twice in most situations.

what is this aussie team? i don't recognize any name other than haddin and shane watson. did they just round up a bunch of school cricketers and pack them off to india?

yuvraj singh is the luckiest man in sport. no matter how badly he sucks he will be in the team. wonder if he has some pictures of dhoni taking a bribe or found in a compromising position with a hooker or something.

Yes, Aussie losers would also say the same.

Had they won, Aussies would have sung a different song.

Strange that Yuvraj did not even bowl. With Dhoni expressing the need for slow bowlers like Yuvraj this is unexpected. In any case, if people can axe Gambhir and Sehwag (there is no more any need for these guys)and Zaheer (no need for this fast "spinner" either), there should be no difficulty in axing Yuvraj - adios Yuvraj Amigo.

BTW, why is Vijay in the team for first test? Think they want to try him out for 2 tests and decide once and for all his fate (he did well in SA last time and that could be a hope for him).

i had thought the match would end well before my workout time but faulkner had me seated on the edge till the end. got to admire his grit and tenacity as an all rounder (fastest aussie 100 in ODIs). btw yuvraj did a splendid job on the field by saving a lot of runs. thanks to the openers and kohli, he never came to bat when india was under pressure (which is when he is at his best). rather, it was not one of his days. he is still an asset to the ODI team.

for the indian team i suppose odis are the new tests. test cricket is something they used to play in antediluvian times.

all these heroes at home will get sorted out by dale steyn. we should postopone talk about about whether we miss dravid, VVS, and tendulkar until after we've had a chance to witness them face the steyn remover.

i liked how dhoni defended his bowlers by questioning how one never questioned the aussies bowlers when india chased down their total. dhoni's batting and captaincy was a bonus to this. he kept suggesting ishant to bowl full length by gestures but it did not click; yet he defended him (before the media) after the match.

"Watson's innings was played in a fury after he was mocked by the Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who mimicked a limping man after fielding a drive at cover. The pair exchanged words subsequently and there were further angry scenes when Watson was dismissed, appearing to receive a send-off from several Indian players."

Haha, Watson got a taste of Aussie medicine!

Eager to protect the brand value of these super heroes, BCCI has reduced the 4 match test series in SA to 2 matches after trying to cancel it altogether. Who needs tests with 300 runs scored per day when you have 700 runs scored in one day in a ODI?

Average score in this series must have been around 340, can they match that in an innings of a test match against SA. I totally agree with your earlier comment, I'm all for using bowling machines in smaller versions of the game. Who would have any interest to bowl when cricket turns into batsmen only game. No matter how hard they try the will get hit and they are not even allowed to rub the ball against zipper.
