Jayaprakashnarayan is a mature and comprehensive thinker. When he was in administration, he showed how people with ideas and integrity can bring about genuine progress for people. Unlike Anna and Prashant Bhushan, he is not attached to a single point agenda. He understands politics, governance and modalities involved in advancing development. He wants smart people with integrity to choose politics and move the country ahead. He believes that India has the potential to be the most developed nation. He is a man of impeccable integrity with a vision. Given a chance, he will make a wonderful CM for AP. He will also do well at the national level.

Why do you think he is not popular in AP? I heard that he is pretty autocratic and wants to run a one man show. That's why his party remained a one man party.

Namo:  I met him. He is not at all autocratic. He is very sharp and the average folks probably find it hard to cope with his intensity. I don't think CBN can analyze issues as well as JP can. His honesty can, perhaps, rub people on the wrong side. He apparently has helped AAP in organizing their campaign strategy in Delhi.

Can you name at least one more person from his party?

Namo: visit the Lok Satta site. They are also active in TN, Maharashtra, K'taka, Delhi, etc., with local boards and leaders. Realistically speaking, their chances of getting elected are slim. But then, we thought the same way about AAP. He is, perhaps, too dry an intellectual compared to the charismatic Anna Hazare. So, people may not find him warm enough. If he sees a snake, he will eliminate it before it bites rather than do a bhajan and a dance!

It's only limited to the elite and it's only idealistic talk. No action. No reaching out to the common man. So what's the use? Who does it serve? AP is going through a crisis now and I think people there are vexed up with all the major political parties. What is JP's stand on the issue? What is he doing to diffuse the situation in his own state and reach out to his people?

As for the AAP, I think they should give outside support to BJP to form the govt in Delhi. BJP got the most number of seats and so clearly a majority of people in delhi want BJP's rule. It's only fair to respect people's mandate and co-operate to let BJP form the govt instead of talking about another round of polls. What if the verdict is hung then too and no one gets the complete majority? Will they ask for another round of polls and another.....until a single party majority is reached? It's not a cheap affair to conduct polls.

What is wrong with the AAP flag-wavers for the common man? This is the first chance they get to take a leadership role in Delhi and they blow it by saying that they don't have the majority so they'd rather opt for a re-election than taking the driver's seat with BJP or someone else on the passenger seat. If their strategy is to win the majority in each state before they take on a leadership role, these guys will never get started. The common man will only get commoner.

does india have schools that specialize in just politics and leadership? you know like IITs or IIMs -  an indian institute of administrative services? so kids in 8th grade and up can focus on subjects like politics, history, government, economics, statistics, public policy, public speaking, international relations and try to get into these schools and get trained to become leaders who will work with the native population. they should be compensated handsomely and have a reasonable amount of authority so that all the power is not with a few corrupt pols who are there cuz mommy put them there. the latter can stick around but they should function as princes not as politicians or thought leaders.
