Asked about Chief Minister Jayalalithaa attacking the BJP but remaining silent on Mr. Modi, Mr. Tharoor compared their relationship to gestures of Bharatanatyam.

“One day Ms. Jayalalithaa says Modi and BJP are bad, next day Mr. Modi says we still love you,” he said.

On Jayalaltihaa's continued silence on Modi during her month-long campaign and her tirade against the saffron leader in her last leg of campaign, Tharoor said it reminded him of Bharatanatyam. "It offers good entertainment," he quipped. "Jayalalithaa has to defend her own record. This entertainment must stop and get back into the serious business of governance," he said.

Modi called Tharoor's wife 'a 50 crore girlfriend'. Tharoor hit back saying his wife is 'priceless' and that Modi does not know what love means.
