That is the "advantage" of not declaring officially the name of potential Govt. leader (prime minister) by the party before the election. When the party loses the election, which it must (for not declaring officially the name of potential Govt. leader before the election), there is nobody to shoulder the blame for party's loss in the election.

If Rahul loses Amethi or even if scrapes through with bare margin , than it is an indication that even Priyanka failed there because she campaigned exclusively and extensively in Amethi. But logic being not a strong point of the dynasty supporters , they may still clamor to replace Rahul with Priyanka.
