What a clever of putting the blame at the PM's doorstep and shielding the dynasty even while appearing to be defending the PM. Whoever are the spin-masters of Congress , the are doing a masterful job.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday asked the party members to defend Prime Minister Manmohan Singh even if the party performed poorly in the Lok Sabha elections. In a meeting with the party leaders, Sonia said even if the results were poor, they should not put the blame on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. "

Rolling Eyes  Why the hell did she think anyone would put the blame on poor Manmohan? She's the orchestrator. Everyone of the 1.4 billion in india knows that. If anything, the blame should go to her. Also, ppl shuddered at the thought of Rahul becoming the next PM. That's another reason for ppl voting for Modi. so who should take the blame? Def'ly not MMS.

I wonder if anyone wrote some sensible thing about who Congress can blame in the Opinion page of any major newspaper. Are the newspapers still showing "deference" (aka "head in the sand,' or simply fear) to the "family?"

I came across this earlier today...

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/opinion/comments-analysis/why-congresss-rahul-gandhi-is-not-to-blame-strategy-is-stupid-and-why-it-hurts-congress/articleshow/35051357.cms

Party spokespersons are saying it's a collective responsibility, Rahul Gandhi can't really be blamed. This is ludicrous, and it severely damages Congress, for three reasons.
