I hope a ten time election winner like Kharge OR Antony becomes Congress President. It would be 'wonderful'

every time congress loses elections, this farce repeats.
The problem is that congressmen's strategy to win elections is to follow the leader. They need a name who will promise moon and deliver some alms free and create a dependent group. Cong men will then carry the name of the great leader slavishly and gather the dependent votes and get elected. Then they will survive in the party by being fulltime slave of sonia family
.
The real problem is most cong men are not very talented nor are they interested or passionate about serving the people. Their only motivation is get elected and make money and then buy elections. They do not know how to organize people or understand people's needs or win people over through honest social service. These misfits will make noise but will fall in line sooner or later. They will wait for one or even two terms to come back to power.

If cong does not return to power in more than two more terms , Gandhi's congress will be dead.

I agree. This is all just a drama. CONmen are incapable of standing up to the high command. That is what Indira Gandhi has done to them. Indira CONgress has nothing in common with the real Congress (that she actively destroyed). CONartists are crooks and Congressmen sacrificed their everything for the nation.

Only an apocalyptic approach (Rudraganas attacking) will save this party. I don't particularly care if it disappears from the political map of India.

For cong the gandhi family is oxygen support. Without its support it would have died a natural death years ago. They begged sonia to revive the party in the late 90s. Now they will beg priyanka aka bianca. Raul is done.

The Congress party is completely bereft of leadership talent. Rahul Gandhi's attempts to induct fresh talent through internal elections have failed to throw up any spectacular individuals. And this is unlikely to change any time soon because there is a fundamental intellectual and ideological vacuum. The party has no real agenda or purpose at a grassroots level, other than to come to power.

Aakar Patel wrote a very insightful column on this some months back:

They often go to live in villages, and help them become self-sufficient....They do not really care if they become rich or famous. This needs sacrifice and commitment.

Try looking for what the Congress worker is supposed to do and you cannot. I have tried. The Seva Dal website, Congresssevadal.org, lists no activity and has not been updated since 2010. I telephoned the Indian Youth Congress (they have a helpdesk number) to find out what they did. They said they hold elections. I met their office bearers to get a briefing and it became clear that what the Youth Congress exists to do is to build a democratic Youth Congress through internal elections.
