oh prostate cancer. venkatesh suresh and rana better be careful. actually I came across this hilarious video of rana where he was being a dunce like he always is but i'm going to be sensitive and post it after all the ethicists, moralists, poets and philosophers of such are past the initial stages of grieving.
but i wonder if i will only see a fraction of the tears shed for robin williams from this passel of elites cuz though in his life he has accomplished more he's merely dark and telugu.
i think the naidus with the exception of rana have always been a respectable, hard-working, humble lot, a cut above the other movie families.

Nice songs there, VP. Thanks for posting.
Rama Naidu always talks about the movie, Prem Nagar, and how without its success, he wouldn't have continued in the film industry. One of his first movies, he invested heavily in it. The movie didn't do well in the first few weeks. A disappointed Naidu concluded that movie making was not for him and decided to go back to his village. He packed everything and was all set to leave, when suddenly the news started to trickle that the movie is picking up. It went on to become a big hit and RN decided to stay back and went on to become a legendary film maker.
"The producer D. Ramanaidu made the same films in three languages. Tamil remake of this film was Vasantha Maligai released in 1972 and in Hindi was made as Prem Nagar released in 1974. In Tamil the pair was played by Sivaji Ganesan and Vanisri as well and in Hindi by Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini. The film completed 42 years of its release."
PS: looks like it was a super hit in tamil too. "Vasantha Maligai was a blockbuster, running in theatres for nearly 750 days,". It's a Koduri Kausalya Devi's novel made into a movie.

Why? What's wrong with Rana. I think he's a decent and humble chap too.pravalika nanda wrote:oh prostate cancer. venkatesh suresh and rana better be careful. actually I came across this hilarious video of rana where he was being a dunce like he always is but i'm going to be sensitive and post it after all the ethicists, moralists, poets and philosophers of such are past the initial stages of grieving.

Vasantha Maligai was one of the biggest blockbusters for Sivaji Ganesan, running for over 750 days in theatres. It held the record of running the highest continuous full-house showings in Madras. The film had a remarkable 271 continuous full-house screenings in all the three theatres it was released, namely, Shanthi, Crown, and Bhuvaneswari.[6] This movie was also successful in Sri Lanka where it ran more than 250 days.[7]Kinnera wrote:Nice songs there, VP. Talking abt Rana, i saw him on TV recently. He's building muscles for his upcoming movie, Baahubali: the one with strong arms. He indeed is one! So is Prabhas, the main protagonist. (let me make a separate post on that movie)
The Baahubali:

Rama naidu's suresh productions first movie was "ramudu bheemudu". A super duper hit and his best movie ever.
He made several big hits with well known novels.
He was probably one of the top five producers in Indian film history. Ranks with raj kapoor, yash chopra like producers.

Re: Movie Moghul Rama Naidu passes away
I saw him once in a red toyota car in Jubilee Hills. Those were the days when it was a quiet area with very little traffic and people who were new to driving would go there to practice.
I read some time ago that he at first wanted to be a hero but failing to become one, he started a restaurant across a movie studio and then slowly got a foothold in the industry through contacts developed at the restaurant. Good for him that he had perseverance and flexibility with his aims and goals.
