The debate over the real parentage of Dhanush continues to rage on. On the one hand, a Madurai couple - Kathiresan and Meenakshi - claim that the actor is their son. On the other, Dhanush is denying these claims and is alleging that the couple is trying to blackmail and extort money from him.

Much like a scene from a movie, film star Dhanush and his family have been going through a tough journey with an old couple from Madurai claiming to be the parents of the actor.

The case filed by the couple in the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court asks for a maintenance of Rs 65,000 per month from Dhanush. ....

Can't they do a DNA test to find out?

So, any time someone, even a stranger, claims in a court to be your parent or sibling and sues you for neglecting or not supporting him / her, you can be forced by the court to provide DNA or other evidence? What about your legal rights to not get subjected to such suits / claims?

Good point but what I meant is that if the court finds compelling enough evidence to keep the case going, they might as well order a test that proves the claim beyond a reasonable doubt.
I feel doing a DNA test is easier than going to the court again and again. Dhanush only has to do the test once. Whoever sues him the future, it is they who have to get a test done to match their dna with the already tested Dhanush's DNA.

Something is not right. The school certificates are looking authentic as per the claim of this old/poor couple but their demand of 65K INR per month is causing doubts to their claim. And another report says there was some laser treatment done to remove/erase identification marks on Dhanush! Interesting...
