of course there are vegetarians who oppose BJP and non-vegetarians who support it. but we are here talking in broad terms. generally speaking, BJP tends to do better in places with more vegetarians (Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, etc.) than places with more non-vegetarians (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, etc.).

The scenario in North-East, where BJP has been on a winning spree in recent times, is an exception to the rule though.
