Highly intelligent wacko

An American inventor who plans to live for ever has been appointed head of a new school for futurologists backed by Google and the US space agency Nasa.

Ray Kurzweil, who worked as a computer scientist before turning to future gazing in the late 1980s, will become chancellor of the Singularity University based at Nasa's Silicon Valley campus in California.

Kurzweil, who famously consumes more than 100 supplement pills a day and regularly checks around 50 health indicators, has been criticised by some experts who see his predictions as outlandish. In a 2007 interview, Douglas Hofstadter, the Pulitzer prizewinning author and professor of cognitive science at Indiana University compared his ideas to a blend of very good food and "the craziest sort of dog excrement".

In an earlier book, Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever, Kurzweil and co-author Terry Grossman lay out their vision of humans living radically longer lives within the next three decades or so.

Don't you think all inventors have some..extra measures of strangeness in them!

I really wanted to post this story- which may be of interest to you..you may have already seen and posted about this..If one can afford expensive legal advice in the US..can get away (or at least try to) with a lot of things!

hahaha, my ex would always joke that I should adopt him (for inheritance). I would just laugh it off, but didn't know such things happen for real too.

I don't think most people, including me knew one can legally do this:)

The American legal system..so "technical" in some things.. if only everyone knew all the loopholes and exceptions to the laws like wealthy people and Corporations do- can legally get away with all kinds of things!

AFAIK Goodman is a Jewish name.

This will reinforce any prejuidice about the whites and in particular the Jews that they are amoral.

One of the sons of the famous Rothschild family who were Jewish had to marry his elder brother's daughter. That arrangement was conceived to keep the wealth within the family.

Sara,

I think human nature is pretty much the same in all groups..people with power and money will always find ways/fight to preserve them..and historically those "who had more of it"..Jews and Whites and others (ethnic groups/sub groups in India)..obviously do it more..in terrible/crude AND in more sophisticated ways!

This is not to say..others won't do strange things- if they get a chance too..a recent story about Morgan Freeman - was disturbing to me.

Maria,

very smart of him ..how people find loopholes in the law to keep their money ..is fascinating ..

but then another court higher up might nail him

or worse still this longtime girl friend who he has adopted might ditch him once she lays her hand on the money .

.but then he might issue a life insurance policy for her and kill her first and claim the money

reminds me of Thamizhvaanan - editor of Kalkandu. He used to write on how to quit smoking and live longer, etc..etc..

But, he himself smoked non-stop and died at 47.
