When I first came to US, and turned on local news on TV. I was confused when they reported that a cat was stuck high on a tree, and firefighters rescued the cat. They also interviewed the owner/neighbors of that cat.

I was so used to see "Fast 50 news" on Indian channels - where they went:

#1 - 7 arrested for raping a 9 year old
#2 - 220 died in the heavy rains that hit Uttaranchal
#3 - MLA accused of murders, and rape. The victim in hospital.
... and so on.

And after this fast 50 news items finished within 5 minutes, the news channels invited Congress and BJP folks to discuss as to why Modi wore a suit today.
