In Arundhati Roy's world, everyone is a villain; and party to that vast, global, corporate conspiracy to take over the world: corporates, NGOs, governments and their armed forces, the media, litfest organizers, the IMF and WB..Bill Gates and even Mahatma Anna. World hunger and poverty is a direct result of profit-oriented corporates. Capitalism is unspeakably evil, under crisis and about to sink any minute (OWS is clear proof of that). Workers of the world, unite. Marx is your only salvation (a century of Marxist failures be damned).

Besides Roy, there is yet another woman who has written a book bitterly blasting India's unequal development.

she says "When a kid like Abdul ... is supporting a family of 11 by buying and selling the things that richer people throw away ... you don't say, 'Oh yeah, well, I'm gonna go home now and go to Whole Foods and buy some cheese.' You just have to find out what's happening," she says.
But Katherine Boo would not criticize Abdul's parents particularly the father for having more kids than they can afford to feed.
