===> Why is this a news item?

What is the big deal about this man having gone to IIM and now wanting to teach kids?

Is he better than someone who did his MBA at Anna University and then became a school teacher?

this is not a guy, its a girl. second, this girl was working in U.S. for infosys and infosys had even offered her a green card. but she got admission in IIM-C and then after completing her studies she and her husband (who she met in the U.S.) started a high school and also a degree college in a village in U.P..
how many of us would give up a comfortable life in the U.S. for the hardships one would have to face in living in a remote village in UP or TN.

Oh really.....for someone with a Bachelor degree ? ToI thinks all its readers are as dumb as its Delhi readers and UPwallas.

The key is she started a college and a school, which is a great business. The husband wants to go to Harvard for MBA ? why ? To run a school and College in UP ? How are 1000s of others in India are running colleges and schools? Yes, they both are idealistic and perhaps noble - typical of many 20s crowd.

Time will tell how they change in due course.

===> I guess you are talking about H1Bs with just B.E getting a green card. I know at least two guys who worked at MCI Worldcom who got their GCs in 2 years. They had only Bachelors degree from schools back home.

There MUST be more to those 2 guys than just having a bachelor degree.

Then the ToI should have mentioned. Based on the "facts" given by them, there is no way this girl could be offered a GC by infosys.

Infosys would have promised this girl to "process" the GC, which would have taken some 6 to 8 yrs. The girl is smart and decided there is more money to be made in starting a college. Everyone who starts a college/school claims to do so for the sake of the poor.
