Pretty song..took me back to the movie "Pretty woman" and the song with the same title by Roy Orbison! Watched it again, not too long ago..what a fantastic movie for lovers of good romantic comedies!

The delicate and sensitive transition from sex worker to Mrs. Cinderella Billionaire done so well- portrayed so brilliantly by Julia Roberts (And Yes, Sara Boji- although it may be "rare"-entertainer workers like strippers and others can be brainy too, if they meet all the educational qualifications/credentials- invest years and have the work skills to meet and perform well in any job/career..why not? Funny how you admire Jayalalitha who was an entertainer- but dismiss other "lesser women" who can pursue their interests as something strange!)

Back to the movie..

Loved it..moved the movie up a few spots in the list of my favorite romantic comedies of all time!

That's my fave too, M. Took me back to 1991. A friend of mine used to call me that, because for reasons known only to him, I resembled Julia Roberts from the movie to him. He even told me he would make his sister paint a T with 'pretty woman' painted on it. Amused, and loud mouth that I sometimes am, I said, 'hmm, then e'one would think that I'm a hooker!' He blushed, and that's when he stopped calling me pretty woman. Funny, but sad ending to the story.

hahaha... I mostly meant long drives with my teen and almost tean girls in 2010 (and parts of 2011 too), and this playing on their iPods or my radio all the time. Sometimes we would all sing together, 'don't hate me coz I am beautiful'.

Tracy, you reminded someone of Julia Roberts in Pretty woman?

Staying just with Julia and the way she presented herself in that complex role..with a certain sweetness and toughness while looking regal with her statuesque figure, think it's a nice compliment! Smile

Well, a lot of women share the challenges of Bridget Jones..

Am sure the real Mommy Julia and Mommy Steffi (dont' know what happened to Gabriella)..share some of the same challenges..raising children-meeting family demands takes a toll, which affects everything we do and feel..eating, exercising, stress etc, etc!

jeez, even I didn't like Notting Hill, more so coz I watched it in theatre. I like Hugh Grant too. I have not seen Only You.

Well, DM..I am always impressed by a man who is not afraid to say he likes Romantic comedies..which are done well! So, I have added an extra gold star- next to your name!

*I think I mentioned in this forum (or in other places) that I liked Notting Hill as well.

Speaking of likes and comedy movies..I like Hugh Grant too and besides Notting Hill..I really liked him in "Two weeks notice" (perhaps not so well known movie) with Sandra Bullock..it was sweet, and quite funny!

Although I am afraid to ask..#3 is TMI and..well, odd (may be there is a perfectly logical explanation!)

I have heard of people lighting candles after some strange things they do..but, this is new..does this happen in the daytime too..like a celebration or something of bodily functions?
