Back in the 1990s funds were collected for the defense of those prosecuted for the murder of Rajiv Gandhi. A married woman donated her gold wedding chain; something no woman wlould take off when her husband is alive.

The woman was the daughter of the legendary Tamil nationalist poet Pavalareru Perunjchiththiranar.

Nonsense! Several women take it off and never wear it after the wedding ceremony.

>>> Who were those prosecuted? Were they found guilty? Is the suggestion that they were unfairly prosecuted or is it that the lady who gave the chain felt the murder itself was justifiable?

Don't remember all names. Look it up.

Were they found guilty? Yes, by an Indian court.

Is the suggestion that they were unfairly prosecuted? Prosecuted means prosecuted, nothing more meant here.

is it that the lady who gave the chain felt the murder itself was justifiable? Ask her.

>>>There is no need to ask her. You have very serious issues if you don't see a problem with this scenario.

I don't see any issue. serious or not.

You have some problem with that lady? What?

Will you donate something precious so an accused can hire a good lawyer and gather evidence?

I know a married woman in India who used her "thaali" as collateral for a small loan so she could buy paan (in Telugu we call it "killi). That made her so famous that she was referred to as "killila Narusu."

Oswald was killed before any trial. I don't know what happened to Godse. I am 100% sure Sirhan had hired a lawyer or gov provided one for free.

Any accused has a right to trial with a good defense lawyer. How else know guilty or innocent?

How many of you think an accused has right to trial with defense lawyer?
