Just when I thought this rape incident in Delhi was an eye-opener for the Indian judicial system to wake up and act swiftly (delayed justice is denied justice), this news is heart-breaking, especially with disabled and mentally-challenged minor girls entrusted in the care of an NGO.

India is compassionate and Indians never abuse anybody, and they respect, love, and help the helpless.
These people are not true Indians.

Visiting this forum after a long time, I notice only a few names like Max, Kris and Rushmun I recognize. The others must be old wine in new labels. Need to decipher who is who!

Hi Kris. Good to see you. It would be nice to refocus on the topic at hand. India needs something similar to the Dept of Social Services to safeguard unfortunate victims like these girls. However, I am not certain if that would improve the situation here. The politicians and lawmen in this country seem to be in a state of apathy or denial about the prevalence of such day-to-day crimes.

I just don't understand why and how the NGO did this. There are some really twisted minds out there, and one would have hoped they wouldn't find their way to NGOs which are supposed to serve people.

Thanks, Car. Yes, I don't know how NGO's are licensed. I am even more shocked to hear that orphanages have become illicit avenues for child trafficking. While India makes adoption very cumbersome, it allows these kinds of crimes to go undetected and unpunished.

Are you Kokkee by any chance? I had a long-winded answer to your question on Vishvaroopam but it never could get posted, even after a second attempt. Is the length an issue?

No, not that I know of. Go into your profile (link in the row right below the forum logo on top). There, check the Drafts tab (last tab) and see if it is saved there.
