When the market/funds perform great, these looters don't lose a moment to claim brilliance and successful strategies, and big fat bonus. When the funds don't do well, they pontificate on the reasons and blame the funds themselves....

The Looting companies should not give bonuses year by year. Rather bonus should be given once every 5 years based on averages.

I read long back one of hte best strategies is to cash out any mutual fund that has had a 2 yr bull run, and put it in established funds that have had a bad 2 to 3 yr runs.

Random walk down the wall street - a well known book says almost all strategies once made public will lose their effectivity as market absorbs and adjusts to that strategy.

Nowadays the following seem to have above normal influence:
Hedge funds
highspeed trading
Speed of information flow to any one any where

Retail investor, i.e. you and me, is getting discouraged by the manipulative power of large traders.

Why? If you are genuinely an investor and not a day-trader, how do high-speed trading or dark pools matter? If you have chosen well - and it is not so difficult to do that - your holdings will appreciate over time and deliver you returns better than most other assets.
