i sold A yesterday. it went up by another 3.5% today. FML.
i also sold B yesterday. it went up by another 5% today. FML X 10.

to compensate, yet another stock that was range-bound is up by 7% today. it is far from my buying price, but any upward move cuts my losses. satyam, another uff stock i own, is rising ewwVvrry ddDay. i hope that damn stock crosses 100 soon.

and the same thing happened with the same freaking stock yet again yesterday. i re-entered the stock a month ago. after declaring good results on wed, it went up by 3% that day. then it went up by 9% yesterday. i sold it. and today it went up again by 6%. same stock, same me and the same thing. deja vu. FML.

Haha..you greedy man. You sold on a 12% uptick and are wailing over missing today's 6%?? Think of all the people who bought on the Oct '10 highs and are now marooned for a long long time...

I was very happy the other day that I sold GOOG at 597. Now it's at 618. I also sold half of my AAPL holding at 360; it is now at 398. I made big gains on both stocks, but feel like I missed out. That's the problem with the stock market... there is no winning here.

I do have a great winning story. This is how it goes... back when stocks were still pretty high, this is august 2000. I got an idea to buy a house, and I would not let go of it... so we began looking and found something too.

It was decided that the closing would be in November end. We began doing all the bank's paper work etc etc.

My husband had 2 years worth of options to sell, and i had one year's worth. Thought we are good to raise 20% down payment of about 60K. The stocks had been rising very well.

But the bank said, nope, you gotta show the 60K NOW in your bank... we thought that was ridiculous, but there was no way out. Husband sold his options... then waited for 2-3 days to sell mine coz they were going down a bit. They didn't come up, so he sold mine too.

Had we waited until November, we would have just bought some stationary from those options.

to be fair, i could make 20% on this stock in over a month although selling it the next day could have taken care of my weekly Food And Drink expenses for the second quarter in this fiscal. i will re-enter this stock soon. i know i have a pair of weak hands and i just cannot wait for my stock to double. as soon as i see some profits, i sell. i usually go for some profits that i can then spend on my weekend activities without any guilt.
