This gives a wrong impression. Also the hero of the film steps into Afghanistan, changing his identity to a Muslim. Why only Muslim, why not a Hindu or a Christian?”

Are there any Ramaswamys and Martins in Afghanistan?

Forget these rational arguments. There was a GD on one of the news channels. Kamal Farooqui and a few folks were debating Azad Maidan riots. The argument was that, these riots are the expression of hatred against the government for targeting Muslims for Mecca Masjid incident. Every Muslim busybody was openly saying that Islam does not condone killing Muslims, and because in the blasts a few Muslims died, it cannot be done by a Muslim. So the terrorists cannot be Muslims.

No media personnel had the guts to ask these folks, why ONLY Muslims, are killing others right? Does it mean that these busybodies will accept Muslim killing non-Muslims ? Such is the state of affairs. Political Islamists are given long rope, because they always create trouble, and people want to avoid trouble.

The precedent that is being set is that, if you keep on creating trouble, the media in anticipation of that, takes the justifications as the new baseline, accepting it without question.

There was a commentary here on the movie, Oh My God. Unfortunately all the folks debating the movie did not bring out one point. That movie was a satire on all religions /priests. However the Christian clergy used Ambika Soni (I&B), to explicitly delete a few scenes maligning the Christian clergy. Nobody spoke for the Hindus. When this happened, nobody questioned freedom of speech there. None of the (pseudo) Secular's were around. The director had to accede.

Indian constitution is the most weakly defended constitution in the world. An amendment to the constitution (preaching added explicitly in 1970's, and the root cause of most troubles today in India), is being mis-used openly by Tableeghi Jamaat and World vision for their nefarious activities including organized conversions. A Christian/Muslim can stand in front of the temple and shout anything against Hindu gods. Unless somebody creates an issue, he has not broken the law. If the same Christian priest goes in front a Mosque and shouts against Allah, let me see what happens. He may not live to see the next 24 hours.

So the law, has been made in such a way, that only the power of retaliation defines how the Police should act on the incident.

However the basic rule that all religions should be treated equally has been subverted again and again in the name of votes, and through backroom maneuvering. It is a very unfortunate state of affairs.
