I wonder who feels truly secure in India. Religion-wise, minorities understably feel insecure. But even the nutjobs of the right, who are such a source of discomfort to everyone else, feel so insecure as to lock themselves up at home fearing rape by Muslims if they step out after 8pm. Caste-wise, the higher castes feel they are always at the receiving end of all demonizing rhetoric. Lower castes anyway feel persecuted. Language-wise, the Hindiwalas fret about their own kind enrolling for English-ispeaking courses instead of propagating their noble tongue in the iSouth. Minorities feel steamrollered anyway.
The all-round insecurity is what maintains the stable equilibrium IMO.
