Yes, it is. I know a Vedula gentleman who has two daughters, and both are highly accomplished too. The elder one ( a Ph.D from Cornell) is on the faculty at UM at Ann Arbor, and the younger one (a Ph.D from MIT) has recently moved to Johns Hopkins (as a faculty member) from MIT. In addition, the younger one, when a teenager, won the Miss India International beauty pagent, and the older one sings and plays violin beautifully.
