It is very sad. The modern society does not believe in "inherited fame" but only in inherited wealth.
While Shyama Sastri's gave his "wealth" to the world leaving his descendants to fend for themselves, Ambanis collect wealth from the world and enable his descendants live in comfort for eternity.
Where is the incentive for people to work and contribute towards arts & Sciences.

Sad state of affairs.
Not just Shyama sastri, but the other two also lived like simpletons. Tyagaraja, for example, went from house to house singing his compositions and people gave him and his students food. Those days, they lived like that with dignity. These days, dignity comes from being DKheads and building wealth through corruption. Fukularism zindabad.

Here is an example of fukularistic living (neither Shyama Sastri nor Tyagaraja would go for this kind of life):

I remember Ponniyin Selvan mentioning that he had never heard of any Brahmin being poor.

PS must be the (Ashish) Nandy-type of person... If I know where he lives in India, I will give the street name with Goodle/Bing map to give directions.
