FOB - may be even funny - stories

Thanks to PP and VB's Shalu post, I thought it will be a good change to start a funny thread:

Here is my story:

I remember converting everything into Rs... and walking away from any store for a good 2 months.

Bought
a pant for 19.95 at JC Pennys on SALE, then found to my horror the same
pant - color, make, size - for 13.95 at K-mart on SALE. $6 x Rs xy =
Rs. xyz = half my monthly salary I got in India.

Of course, that
was enough for me to understand the whole marketing gimmicks, sale
techniques that the American corporations followed. I learnt a lot with that $6
loss.

Yeah. Regarding sales, a friend of mine helped a newer FOB cutie buy Reebok shoes for $45 telling her how it was the best sale possible. I bought the exact same shoes for $39 the next week. He literally PLEADED me to NEVER to tell this to the cutie who was my friend too. Was fun.

My first time in the US was a business trip. I landed at JFK and found the limo. He drove me to the short stay corporate apartment but the office had screwed up and the keys were missing. It was Sunday evening. So he drove me to a hotel. I did not have a US credit card so the driver out in his card to get me a room.

Years later when I moved here for school Air India lost my bag. After two hours waiting for the bag, I missed my connection to SFO. Two weird FOB experiences.
