NASHIK: A 14-year-old girl was rescued by police from a red light area here, thanks to a sex worker.

According to police, the girl's "uncle", identified as Vjay Bhika Dive, brought her to the city by promising to buy her new clothes and tried to sell her to a pimp.

But the women who he had approached for selling the girl, instead tipped off the Bhadrakali police, which rushed to the spot, and called the girl's parents, who are residents of nearby Dindori town. While the girl was handed over to her parents, Dive was handed over Dindori police for further action.

If we just forget what they do and treat it as THEIR WORK for survival, these women are just like anyone and perhaps more honest and compassionate. Yes, they may even be doing their work with much dislike - just like an overwhelming majority of humans do their own work.

Also, by looking at the way our baboos and politicians "live" and do their "work" prostitution is a much more dignified profession.

P.S. Before someone asks me if I have dealt with prostitutes, yes - I have.

is sex trade legal now? usually prostitutes and such stay away from cops.

Legality has little to do with it. Living together is legal, any age difference is fine. But, if a woman of 45 marries a 25 yr old guy, the society wont accept. Same abt living together. Yes SOME do it. But exceptions cannot make the rule.

Even if prostitution is made legal, the poor women will be exploited and subjugated to terror by cops and the influential.
