Re: Science FTW
Seventeen of the twenty-nine attendees were or became Nobel Prize winners, including Marie Curie, who alone among them, had won Nobel Prizes in two separate scientific disciplines.
from wikipedia..only 29 attendees..
LOL..mediocre scientists not allowed..
Curie beat them all by winning it twice...

===> To Max
You seem to hold Scientists and Mathematicians in high esteem.
However, you also seem to look down on people who do M.Sc at IITs because they did not come through the rigorous JEE route. I remember you making a statement to that effect. There are a lot of people who did M.Sc at IITs and have gone on to do Ph.Ds at Ivy league schools.
Why this contradiction?

Re: Science FTW
yes i do hold scientists, mathematicians, and engineers in high regard. if it wasn't for them or human beings with their temperament, we'd all be sitting in caves grunting at each other.
i don't think i said what you claim i said. i may have said that the undergrads in IIT had an attitude of superiority over the non-JEE MSc types. i can't be responsible for the opinions of 2000 other people.

===> Going by your logic, we all have to worship medical doctors --which include guys who went to Patna medical college -- because without them, most of us would not be alive beyond the age of 40.
In fact, quite a few medical doctors from behave as if they have extended the lives of other human beings.
