Re: For Nila..
Got around to looking for nila songs..
Mohan is not a great actor or dashing or charismatic or charming, yet..there is something very nice about him:)
And Madam Revathi now- how time flies! A good actress, pretty..not really gorgeous or sexy (all that in the eyes of the beholder, of course!)..but, just felt good to watch her..the contradiction in her persona..meek-tough!

Thank you amma maharani Nila..nice song!
U,
Shalu? But..neenga ethu sonnalum sari thaan:)
MD,
To me, Luna does not have the same lovely ring to it as "Nila".
Beyond the pathological lunacy..it's interesting to see the associations we make- related to the Moon too..from amusing to sad and madness (!)..from romantic to wondering about the mysteries of the Universe!

Re: For Nila..
Speaking of beautiful songs..this is quite beautiful..never heard this before or heard of the movie "Pokkisham"..apparently it was "loosely" (!) based on "Bridges of Madison County" assuming without the hot scenes and was a box office flop. There are not too many tamil movies with a Muslim heroine..and story in the 60s? 70s? was something different.
I like Cheran as a storyteller- script writer..he is quite talented.

Re: For Nila..
Hi Maria,
I’ve watched Pokkisham and it’s an okay movie. I think Cheran is highly biased with his views over gender. Even in pokkisham the man is survived with a very understanding wife, and a son. Whereas the muslim woman lives with her relatives overseas unmarried surviving with his thoughts. I like Cheran but he either needs to make commercial movies or narrate movies unbiased. Pokkisham flopped due to the comparison of communication advances and he also compares his high quality love and the current generation love and shows the current one in a low light and his limelight love, his limelight family, his limelight received love letters puts the audience to sleep and makes to hit the >> button and I had to << the ending so many times to understand the words of the woman

Sasthi Nila (!),
Appreciate your perspectives.
I have seen only a few movies written and directed by Cheran..could remember "Pandavar Bhoomi" and "Autograph". You are right..he seems to be into stories which are more old-fashioned (conventional)..village genre. Come to think of it.. the heroes end up mostly marry brides picked by their families..but he also has this track of the other "ideal love" elevated to unobtainable heights!
In my view..village and traditional stories (in Indian terms) have a great deal of charm..as long as they don't bore the audiences! Bharathiraja used to create and present them nicely with humor and colorful characters! As for hard to understand and convoluted words by a woman "lost in love."..some of us can easily decode them..but, can understand if others don't have the patience to do it!

Re: For Nila..
The words were simpler to understand but the way it was delivered was like non audible or something like that. You got to watch the ending of the movie when you get some time. Why is the !!! by Nila!!!?

Re: For Nila..
I like to stick to the same screen names people had..when I met them for the first time! It's weird calling people..suddenly by a different name, and applies to everyone.
In your case..since Nila is a such a pretty name..am trying to combine them or go back to Sasthi! If you have a preference, kindly let me know!

He is one of my favorite directors, actors. Off beat stories, controversial stories and no over dramatization.
Oru Naal Chennaiyil is his current movie, I think - I should watch this.

Re: For Nila..
It is more of his ideal love dumps him and faces it by living a miserable life. He being dumped is blessed with all graciousness. LOL See, in his Autograph all of his exes lead a less than average life while he gets to enjoy a ultra modern friendship with Sneha and marry a devoted wife.
I have watched pandavar bhoomi a million times- only the best of him so far.

Re: For Nila..
Well Sasthi Nila..people often have multiple standards for themselves and others..and when rejected deal with it in different ways..some obviously like to rub it in with an air of superiority! I guess revenge is sweeter that way..
I liked this one too..from "Aravaan"..have not seen it..but, it's quite sensual and beautifully choreographed! Liked this actor Aaadhi in the movie thriller "Eeram"..he was excellent in that role.
*I enjoyed looking for-finding Nila songs..some old and some new..and will end it here!
