To me, Luna does not have the same lovely ring to it as "Nila".
Beyond the pathological lunacy..it's interesting to see the associations we make- related to the Moon too..from amusing to sad and madness (!)..from romantic to wondering about the mysteries of the Universe!

Appreciate your perspectives.

I have seen only a few movies written and directed by Cheran..could remember "Pandavar Bhoomi" and "Autograph". You are right..he seems to be into stories which are more old-fashioned (conventional)..village genre. Come to think of it.. the heroes end up mostly marry brides picked by their families..but he also has this track of the other "ideal love" elevated to unobtainable heights!

In my view..village and traditional stories (in Indian terms) have a great deal of charm..as long as they don't bore the audiences! Bharathiraja used to create and present them nicely with humor and colorful characters! As for hard to understand and convoluted words by a woman "lost in love."..some of us can easily decode them..but, can understand if others don't have the patience to do it!
