The Mylapore Club bagged the VGN Prince of Arcot Trophy after defeating the VGN team by 20 runs in the final here on Sunday. Sandeep Srinivasan scalped six wickets for 19 runs as VGN, chasing a target of 122 in 20 overs, was bowled out for 102.

The 15-club tournament, under the directorship of Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali Dewan to the Prince of Arcot, came to a close with a prize distribution ceremony at the Amir Mahal Palace. This the fifth year the tournament has been conducted.

Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, V N Devadoss, chairman of the VGN Group, and its managing director Pratish gave away the prizes.

The Mylapore Club scored 122 runs for 7 in 20 overs. Karthik Narayan scored 35 for the club while Surender and Arunai of VGN bagged two wickets for 17 and 30 runs, respectively. VGN was all out for in 17.4 overs and Sridhar’s 35 runs is the highest score of its team members.
