Cunning bosses

I wrote to the CEO of my company and asked her for a raise. I listed all the stuff I have done for the client. She wrote me back praising for my service and gave me a 6% raise.
I got the 6% raise alright. But she stopped matching 401(K) contributions.

Which part? That his CEO is the one giving out raises or that it is actually cheaper for a corporation to match 401k than to give a raise?

I would think that 401K contributions are legally binding as per company rules and appointment letter/contract. One can cause serious problems to the "higher-ups" for any arbitrary slip-ups in this.
Getting a 6% raise directly from CEO is nothing new. ANY of his superiors - with budgetary control can theoretically give a raise.
Rishi - you should use your Charm with your CEO...May be she is the one you met at the pizza shop ???

so your mgmt can give and take 401k matching benefits per individual?

the one where the CEO didnt invite ward#4 almost-IIT graduate to her house and try to molest him after giving him wine and 6% raise. that I cant believe it didnt happen

6% salary raise for Rishi = 5%-6% matching contribution in 401K for 20 people

That can be done...
So you should be clear saying that the company stopped matching funds, and then when you got a 6% increase.
I tell ya...with a female as your CEO and your "Viswamitra Rishi's" charisma you have a great opportunity.
P.S. my own company stopped matching funds starting Jan - but since I will never retired I did not care.
