He stopped loving her today..
RIP George Jones.
So many great songs..this one came to mind..right away..
"He stopped loving her today..
they placed a wreath upon his door
and soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today..
You know, she came to see him one last time
Oh, and we all wondered if she would
and it kept running through my mind
this time, he's over her for good"

Re: He stopped loving her today..
Nice to know you liked them Sasthi Nila:) It's a powerful song..
Did not think..there were are any George Jones fans here!
On a more serious note..think, the "real love" of a man is grossly underestimated. Men have a much harder getting over a relationship, if they have been faithful, and it's not even about "love itself"..but the fact that the woman dared to leave..and can be happy by herself or with someone else!
And am sure all of us know..as people age..widowers have much harder time coping with the death of the wife than widows after the loss of their husbands..women can live by themselves easily, if they have "economic independence" or with their children and adjust for the most part..ask for whatever they want..
I feel quite sorry when I see older gentleman feel so lost without their wives, are hesitant to ask anything from their children and their spouses, grandchildren..unless they are wealthy (no problem finding a new wife at any age!) It's the same with Indian, American men..it's universal.
Am generalizing, of course.

Was listening to a few country songs..and not just by George or Ms. Tammy Wynette, his great love..in the genre of love and loss..
Another powerful and gripping- lyrics song.. about how war and distances can take a toll on relationships..really a story in six mins..among my sad song favs..
Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisely and Allison Krauss
