The different complexions of people in India, fairer in the north and darker in the south, might be the result of epigenetics (due to different climatic conditions and lifestyles of people over a long time in north and south) rather than the long ago migrations of their ancestors from Europe and Africa (MiddleEast), respectively.

In this regard, the genetic testing results in humans presently are of no use since they cannot tell exactly whether the difference in genetic markers is the result of ancient migrations or the long term environmentally induced epigenetics (from climate and lifestyle).
