Hired??? Pee Murhty founded igate (I think) and bought the much bigger Patni becoming the CEO of the joint company.

read his 2012 interview - he seems to claim that he had become "SMARTER". Anyway, he always came across as an arrogant guy.

** I kinda feel bad for this phanee murthy. He must've behaved inappropriately but if this woman sued him for money when she could've easily put him in his place with other means, it makes me think that she gains more from his money that she ever would by building a career of her own. Cuz once a woman cries sexual harassment, her professional career is over, no one wants to hire someone like that cuz no one wants someone litigious and crazy. If this guy was too much to handle, it's better to look for another job, but Phanee looks easy to handle.

Sexual harassment is understandable, but why the heck shld the company need to know abt consensual relationships of its employees? Why shld the employees report such relationships to the company? This seems ridiculous!

Kinsey, its okay to ask basic questions - here is a clliffsnotes version:

A Corporation is both a legal person and a collection of people. When employees walk in the door, said Corporation is on the hook for keeping them safe - ergo protecting them from unwanted advances. Wanted advances from Accounting might be fine as long as you are in Strategy and there is no reporting relationship. If the guy wants to show some phani, he should be careful that he is not in the line of deciding her promotion, pay, bonus and her general working conditions. When the nympho Acctg clerk downs a lot of martinis at the christmas party, it may be okay to cast longing glances and generally fire her up, but no-no to inviting her up to your room if you are placed in the hierarchy above her. All you can and should do, is to allow the no-gooder arts college graduate from Marketing to have a go at her in the party and watch helplessly.

yes...unless he is doubly sure his image and status are sure to be protected by "secrecy" This is where Phaneesh was stupid in being superconfident. How else a CEO will get caught twice...In fact, this is the only case that I know wherein a fired bigwig made it back to the top only to be removed for the same mistake.

LOL! Ok, got it. I never read the employees' handouts carefully when i joined a work place. At the previous office that i worked, the 42 yr old boss married his 26 yr old assistant. He was divorced and she was in an abusive relationship. She used to pour her heart out to him about her abusive boy friend and he used to be her pillar of strength and voice of sanity and maturity. I guess that made her fall in love with him. She finally kicked her BF out and married her boss. This happened before I joined the corporation. No action was taken against the guy. He's happily married. All i heard from ppl at office was, 'She was out of her mind to be marrying such an older guy'. That's it!
Anyway, I work at an all women office right now and so totally out of any such office gossips. We do have other dramas going on though.

Phani is Cobra Pearl or Gemstone that forms on the hood of Cobra. Naga Mani is female version of this name. A typical Telugu name.

^^yeah, you're right! but i'm also suspicious of adult women who sue and make money out of sexual harassment. there should be no money involved in this. if a man is found to be guilty then he should get a warning and some kind of education on what type of behavior is unacceptable and if it happens again, he should be asked to leave his job.
