Georgia Tech's new Internet master's degree in computer science is the future
It comes just in time. A shortfall of computer-science graduates is a constant refrain in Silicon Valley, and by 2020 some one million high-tech job openings will remain unfilled, according to the Commerce Department.
That's why Georgia Tech's online degree, powered by Udacity, is such a game-changer. For the same $7,000 a year that New York City spends per student on school buses, you can now get a master's from one of the most well-respected programs in the country. Moore's Law says these fees should drop to $1,000 by 2020—a boon for students and for the economy.

A great comment!

How can online education be any worse than going to a party school, joining a frat, and learning nothing useful for 4 years?

This is such a dumb comment.
The annual survey awards the title of party School of the year. Univ of Colorado, U Va, U FL are some in the recent years. Are these really party schools? If someone joins a frat and learns nothing - he will get F in everything and get NO DEGREE after 4 years. It is easier to get grades in private schools than in public universities. These surveys are based not on academics but on non-academic criteria. Also, this is based on a common public perception in the US that anything public - all public schools are party schools and lower standards and anything private HAS to be good and of high quality.
Wait for a few years and ppl will find out how good these online graduates are. one assumes that these guys are just as good - wait.
Remember - you get what you pay for. If you pay $1000 for a degree, then you will get a degree worth only $1000.
