BJP leaders (including Modi) are requesting Advani-ji to withdraw the resignation letter. Instead, they should let him go (retire / resign) as quickly as possible. He is in his eighties (85+) and needs a break from politics.

Advani is a stupid man. He wanted to become the pM at any cost. He wanted to get the Muslim vote. So the confused idiot went to Pakistan and praised Jinnah who was responsible for the murder and rape of many Hindus.

Advani was trying to soften his image and try and become another Vajpayee. Of course, i disagree with his assessment of Jinnah but his intention was simply to try and soften his image so that he would be more acceptable to allies like JD(U) who depend on their electoral victories on specific caste combinations and also the muslim vote. The problem with Modi as far as the allies are concerned is that the muslim vote disappears if one allies with Modi. Muslims are 18% or so in UP, 35% in West Bengal, and somewhere between 15-20% in Bihar.

Good riddance!

I think Advani should go to Hyderabad and join MIM or Lucknow and join
the local Muslim league. He can even go back to Sindh and write a book praising not just
Jinnah but also Zia ullu Haq and Musharraf. If he is more senile, he can join the Taliban and get killed by a drone.

I am saddened to hear these words said about the man who single handedly built up the BJP from 2 seats in Lok Sabha in 1984 to where it is now. If BJP supporters are saying these things about one of the founding fathers of their party than it reflects poorly on the BJP in my opinion.

Advani was a good organizer but his leadership qualities are questionable. He can be quite emotional (in one of his interviews with Burkha Dutt, he started to cry and his daughter was consoling him; the funny thing was, there was no clear reason why he was crying!). The tantrums he is throwing indicate that in his mind he is more important than the party or the country. The old guy had two chances to become the PM and couldn't help his party. He won't do any better the third time. He should see the writing on the wall and get his head cleared. In his old age, he should just retire and enjoy family life before kicking the bucket.

IF Vajpayee says something...it can change... chances are he might mediate.

But, at this stage the best shot for BJP is to ignore Advani like Modi ignored Keshubhai Patel... They can start their own party and will get 15 seats - at best.

Vajpayee is 88 years old and said to be in very poor health. It is said he is unable to speak. If he would have been active and capable of speaking, he would have sided with Advani. Didn't he try and get Modi sacked as CM of Gujarat in 2002 ?

WRONG analysis..

Muslims WILL Never vote for JD-BJP in parliament elections bcz the vote is for B J P. whetehr it is Modi, advani or even Rahul leading BJP.

So who cares and consoolidate the 80% of the votes.. Congress will lose ALL forward votes. Muslim votes will be split 3, 4 ways ...

WRONG analysis..

Muslims WILL Never vote for JD-BJP in parliament elections bcz the vote is for B J P. whetehr it is Modi, advani or even Rahul leading BJP.

Out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, Nitish's party won 20 and BJP also did very well in the last elections. By all accounts many Muslims voted for Nitish the last time.
