Poor woman, sitting in jail without doing any crime.
Examples like this are a strong deterrent against capital punishment.
A few days ago I watched a very old (1950s) Indian movie "ab dili door nahin" ("Delhi is not far now") which had the same theme ... a poor man falsely accused of murdering a rich money lender and sentenced to death, but on the last minute a pick-pocket (whom the court and police don’t want to trust because of his criminal past) comes to his rescue by claiming as a witness that on the night of the murder he (the pick-pocket)   had seen the accused being drunk and sleeping whole night near a crematorium.
