Hindians everywhere!
While walking to the office today from the train station I saw a white chick walking a few feet ahead of me. The wind blew her hair and I noticed she had a tattoo on the back of her neck - in HINDI! It read "Anand". So unless she is into spirituality and going to Ananda marg or whatever, it is most likely a bf's name. She is young, maybe in her 20s. Just to be on the safe side, she could have gone with "Kumar" to keep it generic.
Now, I hope I will see a Thamizh/Kannada/Malayalam/Telugu tattoo sometime soon. People with children of dateable age - encourage them to find a tattoo parlor which can do south Indian language tattoos too, don't let them settle for Hindi.

I think it is a spiritual tattoo. Go check out the offerings at any tattoo parlor. You will see Sanskrit ones too. Did it read Anand or Ananda?
They are both spelled आनंद
They are both spelled आनंद

Yeah, that's what it was. I have seen a few "Om" tattoos but this is the first time I saw "Anand"

Re: Hindians everywhere!
Dhairya is patience. Courage is veerta.
@OP
Lead by example. Get a Tamil work tattooed on your body
Ok so apparently dhairya in Sanskrit can translate to courage.
Parakram n veerta are more common though.

tattoos can be cute when the skin is young, smooth and taut with no wrinkles. but imagine how a huge scorpion tattoo on someone's arm or butt would look at at age 60

...would look like an old wrinkled scorpion, aging quite normally with the person.

Thinking about Tatto, Imagine Rev. Flimmy Iyer getting a "permanent" one and finds a spelling mistake in the inscription.

he will have to get the tatto [sic] elongated with something like this:
100 times:
tatoo not tatto
tatoo not tatto
tatoo not tatto

Re: Hindians everywhere!
Tattoos have become almost like fashion statements. I don't care for them. What I detest most are those on people's faces.
