dhoni out of tri-series, kohli to lead
i think this is a fortuitous development. it's great that kohli is getting some experience managing the side. i think he'd be a wonderful replacement for dhoni. has excellent temperament and maturity. dhawan, ashwin, and rohit sharma are also good future candidates for the captaincy.

Kholi is way ahead of others in experience and performance. Besides Kholi - i think - once was U-19 India captain. Notice that all these players are in the same age group and played in U-19 team - as even team mates.

A couple of years ago it was Sehwag and Gambhir, we all know where those future captains ended up.

1. Kholi is much younger
2. He has kept his mouth shut and not indulged in any political war like Sehwag+ Gambhir did against Dhoni (who was BCCI prez favorite).

Kohli can be a hot head unlike Dhoni who is cool. Let us see how well he handles the pressure in this series.

kohli is indeed a hothead. i have seen him lead RCB. he yells at his own players, picks fights with the opponents and makes mistakes under pressure. he can't keep his emotions in check at all. and then there is dhoni who is cool in any pressure situation. i dislike dhobi's batting style but i give him ten on ten for his leadership.
rohit sharma is much like dhoni and if he becomes a better i'nal batsman, he is our future captain.

Kohli is an excellent batsman and fielder, no doubt. But he lacks the maturity and temperment to be a good captain. You were spot on regarding his behavior in leading RCB. One example is how aggressively he wanted to pick a fight with Gambhir when KKR played in Bangalore. Yes, I've also noticed him act up against his own teammates on the field. Rohit has to establish himself as a reliable batsman before he can be considered for captaincy but his temperment is far better compared to Kohli's. Let us see how Kohli does in this series.Captain Bhankas wrote:kohli is indeed a hothead. i have seen him lead RCB. he yells at his own players, picks fights with the opponents and makes mistakes under pressure. he can't keep his emotions in check at all. and then there is dhoni who is cool in any pressure situation. i dislike dhobi's batting style but i give him ten on ten for his leadership.

Sure did through my highschool years. We had our own cricket club in Madurai and on Sundays used to compete against other boys' clubs on Race Course grounds. I hope the Race Course in SokkikuLam still has teams competing with each other sponsored by Madura Coats.Jebediah Mburuburu wrote:gdctzn, have you ever played cricket?goodcitizn wrote:Kohli is an excellent batsman and fielder, no doubt.
