it's somewhat like sharukh khan ( muslims in general) complaining about airport security procedures.
there's a reason why a cop is less relaxed when he pulls over a black guy.

maybe i'm being the devil's advocate here but recently i was pulled over by a cop and he did not behave badly. i'm not white.

so this case is not necessarily about racism.

you northindian hindus are a funny schizophrenic lot. you hate the muslims amongst you, but you lap up the garbage movies they put out like there is no tomorrow.

I knew one overeducated foolish desi. He has a Ph.D in Engineering.

He was caught speeding by a white cop.

The man looked at the license. He said " I have been following you for a while. You did not even slow down. Why are you here? Why don't you go home?"

The desi said the cop was racist.

My point is: May be the cop was racist. But with all the education you have, you should have known better than to put yourself in a situation where a cop with barely a high school education could abuse you."

I have (so far) been treated fine by cops and immigration and other officials - in US and in India. Once in California, when a cop stopped, I explained something..and after 30 secs we were both bad mouthing the wivey world. The motorcycle cop put the sirens on and escorted me to the next exit to get back to I-5. The only time I felt like a TN minister.

This is not an uncommon feeling among blacks and there is a history behind it in many parts of the country, even in places like Southern California. With an Indian, especially of you look/act professional, the dynamic is totally different. I have been pulled over while driving home from work and have been mistaken for a lawyer because I was in a suit. Also with an Indian, there is no baggage from the cops' perspective.
